KOZ Transition Clinic and Bike Skills Clinic

We are looking forward to having you all out to the transition clinic. This will be a very interactive session with a focus on the key skills and what to do when getting out of the water and Transitioning to the bike, then bike to run. These are very important skills that even the pros work with regularity. Please bring everything necessary to compete in a triathlon. We start sharp at 7am so please come early for check in, waiver, and so we can start on time. Feel free to bring a friend :). After the session there will likely be a group that will ride to the top (Cabrillo Monument) and a short run as well. So although you are not actually doing a triathlon, you will be doing all aspects of the event with repetition to help you become proficient and knowledgeable about these key pieces. Spanish Landing Park. North end of park – Last parking lot. Turn into lot at light, then turn into the left parking lot, we will be in the grass / beach area at the end of the lot.. Look for the RU tent . Please bring the following for this Transition Clinic
Swim (Wetsuit, googles, swim cap, body glide, towel – swim suit, trip-suit where what you will wear in the race)
Bike (Bike-yep you need it, helmet required, bike shoes, sun glasses)
Run (running shoes preferably with easy laces, race belt/number if you have an old one, hat/visor)
Please bring nutrition (water bottle + nutrition)

Bike Skills Clinic
Stick around after the Transition Clinic to continue learning and having fun while you do it! Learn how to not just race fast, but also ride safe. Bike handling skills are fundamental to better and safer racing. This clinic will teach you many skills and techniques to make you a better rider. It will start with short discussion and then we will jump on our bikes and actually run through drills that will help you improve all aspects of your bike handling skills. These skills will help you not just when racing, but for all riding. And most importantly, they will help keep you and other riders around you safe.
Great for beginners and more advanced riders.
Bring your bike and bike gear: helmet, shoes, etc. and come ready to ride. Great for beginners to experienced triathletes.
