For those not familiar with our Beginner Triathlons these were started by the club in order to give people who are new to triathlon a chance to practice a triathlon, without having to go spend money on an event. Our goal is to have you come out and treat this as a learning experience and make your mistakes here, so that when you are finally at your first big "real" race, you can start with confidence and an understanding of what to do and not do.

Note: Registration will open approximately 2 weeks prior to each Beginner Triathlon.
Note: Non-members can participate one time to try out the club. If a non-member wants to participate for any additional events, they must join the club because club dues pay for the expenses to put on events like these.
Where: Glorietta Bay, Coronado.
Who: BEGINNERS! As we said, we hesitate to call this even a race. This is a chance to do a triathlon and get you more comfortable with all the aspects of the sport
Swim - Our swim will be a 300m swim in calm Glorietta Bay. It will be a counter clockwise course, with two buoys that you will keep on your left shoulder. We will have volunteers out in the water to assist.
Bike - The bike course will exit the park at the southern end and head south along the Silver Strand bike path approx. 3.5mi. down to the turnaround at Loews Resort. You will return on the shoulder of the highway and reenter the park in the same place you exited.
Run - The run is a 2 mile out and back course that hugs the bay. Participants will head north out of the park, running along the sidewalk and side street for approximately 1 mile to a turnaround at a large speed bump adjacent to the Coronado golf course. After rounding the speed bump, you'll head back on the same route you came out and reenter the park in the same area and cross the finish line.
