DESCRIPTION:<H3>First Light Swim: Wednesday/Friday Weekly Morning Openwater Meet-up</H3>\n<B>Location: </B>La Jolla Shores (South Bathrooms / Tower 30) <P>\n<B>Schedule: </B>Every Wednesday and Friday <P>\n<B>Time: </B>6:15 AM (Arrival/Planning) | 6:30 AM (Toes in water) <P>\n<B>&#9888\;&#65039\; IMPORTANT: SELF-GUIDED EVENT NOTICE </B> <P>\nThis is a community meet-up\, not a hosted or coached event. There are no lifeguards on duty specifically for this group\, and no formal instruction is provided. Swimmers are 100% responsible for their own safety\, planning\, and gear. <B>You must coordinate with a buddy before entering the water. </B> <P>\n<P>\n<B> Morning Flow </B> \n<UL>\n<LI><B>06:15 AM: </B>Arrive at the boardwalk in front of the South Bathrooms (west end of Vallecitos). Observe water conditions and surf height. </LI>\n<LI><B>Pre-Swim:</B> Introduce yourself to others. Share your experience level and intended distance. <B>Do not join others in the water without first discussing a plan. </B></LI> \n<B>06:30 AM: </B>Entry/Toes-In.  Swimmers break into ^'pods^' based on similar pace and goals. </LI>\n<LI><B>07:45 - 8:30AM: </B>Informal Social at Brick and Bell Coffee</LI>\n<LI><B>Communication:</B> You are responsible for your swim buddy\, and they are responsible for you. Maintain constant communication.</LI>\n</UL>\n<P><P>\n<B>Common Swim Routes</B>\nDistances typically range from <B>600 to 3\,500 yards:</B><P>\n<UL>\n<LI><B>The Half: </B>Tower 30 to the halfway point and back (~1\,600 yds).\n<LI><B>Shore South: </B>Along the shore to the Marine Room and back (~1\,200 yds).\n<LI><B>The Big Loop:</B> Round trip to the Cove or the Scripps Pier (~3\,000–3\,500 yds). </LI> </UL>\n<P><P>\n<B>Safety & Participation Requirements</B> <P>\nTo ensure the safety of the group\, participants should meet the following minimums:<P>\n<UL>\n<LI><B>Experience: </B> Comfortable in open/rough water and negotiating surf entries/exits.</LI>\n<LI><B>Endurance: </B> Able to swim <B>800 yards continuously </B> and a total of <B>1\,600 yards minimum </B> per session. </LI>\n<LI><B>New to OWS? </B> If you are new to the ocean\, please start with beginner-oriented swims (Sunday Glorietta\, BOWS\, or Monday/Friday evening Shores sessions).</LI>\n<LI><B>Conditions: </B>Entry may be delayed or canceled due to lightning\, heavy fog\, high surf\, or poor water quality.</LI>\n</UL>\n<P>
