Swim Smooth is excited to announce the kick-off of the SSSSTP (Swim Smooth Summer Squad Training Program) at the Solana Beach Boys and Girls Club. Weekly sessions will be as follows:
Sessions will focus on technique, endurance and threshold development utilizing the precision of Swim Smooth’s CSS (Critical Swim Speed) training methodology. More here> https://www.youtube.com/

Thursdays – “Technique/Endurance”: A session that starts with technique work that then progresses to some solid endurance work. These sessions combine a bit of technique work to enhance your efficiency, and then a good amount of endurance work. Feedback will be provided on how to perform the nominated drills correctly and a few quick tips on your stroke. Typically 2500 to 3000 yds in distance.
Sundays – Threshold Development” : A session that focused on the development of sustainable speed. This is the sessions where we focus on “sustainable speed” in the pool and in the open water. Intervals range from 50m to 500m and will be at or near threshold pace. Focus is on maintaining speed as your stroke inevitably starts to breakdown. The best swimmers in the world are those who let this happen least. Feedback on how well you are holding pace and motivation you to keep pushing on when things are getting tough.
