I had the pleasure recently of talking triathlon with the TCSD’s very own Eric Rehberg.  I’m certain you will enjoy getting to know Eric through our Ironman Conversation.

I had the pleasure recently of getting to talk triathlon with TCSD member Jill Childers.  Jill bounced back from a life threatening injury to finish her 1st Hawaiian Ironman in 2007.

I had the chance recently to talk Ironman and triathlon with the Tri Club’s perennial Grand Prix winner Andy Seitz.  Andy has done his 40-44 age group proud as he has won the overall Grand Prix each of the past 3 seasons.  Please join me as we learn what makes Andy tick.

I had the chance recently to talk Ironman and triathlon with Tri Club member Katrin Szardenings. Katrin has experienced a wide variety of the Ironman courses around the world and I thought you would enjoy getting to know her better.

I sat down recently and talked triathlon with Amanda Benedict.  In 2005 Amanda finished her first Ironman distance race at Vineman with a time of 12:53:54.  Amanda is very involved with the Triathlon Club of San Diego as she is the Club Liason, leads weekly club workouts and is the former newsletter editor.

I sat down recently and talked triathlon with Tri Club member Andi Ramer.  Andi had just returned from an excellent race at Ironman Hawaii where she finished in 11:55:36.  Please feel welcome to eavesdrop on our conversation.

On Sunday August 28th I raced Ironman Canada.  IMC is one of 20 events around the world where you can qualify for the Hawaiian Ironman.  My time was 10:43:21 and after racing all day I found myself winning a sprint finish and qualifying to race Hawaii by a mere 6 seconds.  My age group (men 40-44) had the most participants (327 started) so we got the most slots for Hawaii (12).  At the end of the day I finished 18th out of 290 in my age group.  God blessed me as the 12th  Hawaii slot dropped all the way down to me.  Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.  I was very lucky on this day. 

I had the pleasure of talking triathlon recently with Tri Club member Al Tarkington.  Al qualified for the Hawaiian Ironman by winning the 65-69 age group with his 13:49:06 performance at Ironman South Africa on March 20, 2005.

I had the chance to talk Ironman recently with Dennis Villavicencio, a new Tri Club member who qualified for Ironman Hawaii with his 9:59:33 performance at Ironman USA which placed him 5th out of 366 men in the 35-39 age group.  Please join me as I get better acquainted with this unique guy.
