News and Press

This month’s article is more of a summer vacation story I wanted to share about our trip to France and Denmark taken by my wife, Laurie Kearney, and I.  The focus of the France portion was to spectate at the Tour de France.  We continued onto Denmark for me to race in the Duathlon Long Course World Championships.

Please listen in on the conversation I had with Kim Brown, the Tri Club’s nutritionist the past couple of years and Kona qualifier.  Kim qualified for the Hawaiian Ironman with her 4:56:00 performance which placed her 3rd among women 25-29 at the Half Vineman.

Rob Evans

I recently talked Ironman with Rob Evans, a TCSD member who qualified for Kona with his stellar performance at Ironman Coeur d’Alene.  Rob finished IM CDA in 10:15:21, placing him 13th in the tough men’s 40-44 age category.

Sarah Reinertsen
Recently I talked Ironman with Sarah Reinertsen.  Sarah is a TCSD member who has qualified to race the Ironman in Kona this October in the Physically Challenged category.

Bob Rosen

I had the chance recently to talk triathlon with Bob Rosen, a long time member of the Triathlon Club of San Diego since 1986.  Some of you may know Bob as the “Bike Case Bob” as Bob doles out the club’s bike cases to our many traveling triathletes.

Typically I use this article to talk about racing Ironman triathlons with one of the TCSD members.  But today I’d like to expand all of our horizons by speaking with Julie Gildred, TCSD member who is on a continuous Ironman of sorts as she is using her love of cycling to see the world.
